the Midway Plaisance makes clear," all the people say.
And I'm waiting for my Emma, who is staying on 63rd.
I've waited all night
in the White City's light -
but she hasn't been seen or heard.
We took a ride on the Ferris Wheel,
then the Travelator took us down
to Eastern sounds on a glockenspiel
and Little Egypt in her necklace and gown.
And I'm waiting for my Emma, who is staying on 63rd.
And I'm looking for the reason She's not been seen or heard.
All I want to do
is find my Emeline.
I've searched from 67th
up to Fullerton and Racine.
All that I can see
is Emeline on her own. You know it isn't safe
for a girl in the city alone.
I decided to go
to 63rd and Lowe
to try to find Emeline.
The landlord was there
he took away the air
and that's the last that I was heard or seen.
And I'm waiting for my Emma, who's been gone 100 years today. And I'm cursed to search Chicago until the world has passed away.
